In a heartwarming display of community spirit, residents in the Banglamung district of Chonburi province united to lend a helping hand to a mother and child facing a challenging situation. The compassionate response came after the caregiver responsible for 10-month-old Ava, at a local childcare facility, lost contact with the mother, who is employed in Malaysia. Stepping in to investigate and provide essential assistance was the community group known as ‘Pen Nueng’ or ‘Be One.’
Ava, under the care of a Banglamung childcare facility since , found herself in the midst of uncertainty when communication with her mother ceased . The mother, who had initially planned to return , arranged for Ava’s care in instalments. The caregiver, Nalinrat, a 42-year-old woman who owns the facility, found herself in a perplexing situation.
Upon receiving information about the predicament, Chalida Phalamat, the head of the ‘Be One’ group, swiftly organized a team to ensure Ava’s health and safety. Engaging with Nalinrat, the team gained insights into the situation. Nalinrat, displaying unwavering commitment, expressed her dedication to continuing Ava’s care.
Chalida extended her outreach to Ava’s family and the Provincial childcare facility of Chonburi, collaborating to verify Ava’s current status and recent care. Natthamon Kitdumrungkul, the head of the Provincial childcare facility, outlined a comprehensive plan to monitor Ava’s progress and maintain communication with the child’s mother and relatives in Thailand. She reassured that opportunities would be created for the mother to discuss and find suitable solutions for the child’s future care.
Commending Nalinrat for her dedication and compassion, the community group expressed gratitude to the Provincial childcare facility for their cooperative stance. Their collective aspiration is for Ava’s mother to safely return and reunite with her child in the near future. The resilience and unity demonstrated by the Pattaya community in times of adversity serve as a testament to the strength of collective compassion and support.
