A pedestrian, a 45-year-old woman pushing her child in a stroller, was struck by a school bus on Long Island, according to Nassau County Police.
The incident occurred just after 2:30 p.m. on Monday when the woman was crossing Long Beach Road at the intersection of Davison Avenue in Oceanside. The mini-school bus, making a left turn, collided with the woman, leaving her pinned underneath the vehicle, as reported by authorities.

Utilizing a five-ton floor jack and high-pressure air bags, they successfully freed the woman from beneath the bus. Subsequently, she was transported to a nearby hospital, where she is being treated for leg injuries and a head cut. Fortunately, her injuries are expected to be non-life-threatening.
The child in the stroller, visibly unharmed, was also taken to the hospital for evaluation and has since been reunited with a family member, according to police.
The 71-year-old driver of the mini-school bus remained at the scene. Although no charges are currently anticipated, an ongoing investigation is being conducted by authorities to ascertain the details surrounding the incident.
