Eunos, Singapore – A heart-wrenching incident unfolded on Sunday, November 5, as a mother and her one-year-old daughter were discovered lifeless at the base of an HDB block in Eunos. Preliminary investigations indicate they had fallen from the building, with no suspicions of foul play, according to eyewitnesses and local authorities.
According to the Singapore Police Force (SPF), the tragic event transpired around 12:40 PM on that fateful Sunday. Eyewitnesses reported the harrowing discovery of a 33-year-old woman and her one-year-old baby, both found motionless at the foot of Block 35 Eunos Crescent.
Despite prompt responses from emergency services, both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police presence was immediately visible, with two blue police tents erected at the site, and the fourth floor cordoned off for investigations. The Eunos block is believed to be the residence of the deceased individuals.
The exact circumstances leading to the fall are still under scrutiny. Eyewitnesses recall hearing a loud noise around 12:45 PM, prompting them to investigate. They found the mother and daughter on the ground, their lives tragically cut short.
At around 2:40 PM, a man believed to be a relative of the deceased arrived at the scene and conferred with police officers. Following this, the bodies were respectfully removed from the scene at 4:40 PM. The man then returned to their dwelling, his actions marked by an air of solemnity, as he declined to speak with reporters.
Local residents of the Eunos block disclosed that the deceased pair were a mother and her daughter. They had moved into the neighborhood approximately one year ago. The community regarded them as reserved individuals, with the woman being a mother of two, including an older son. Notably, the male relative on the scene is believed not to be her husband.
In an official statement, the Singapore Police Force has ruled out the possibility of foul play or homicide as a contributing factor in this tragic incident. Nevertheless, their investigation remains ongoing.
