EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Grace Christian Center, in collaboration with the Arlington-based non-profit organization Seasons of Change Incorporated, is set to provide essential baby care products to families in need as part of its Blessed 2 Give (B2G) campaign.
Between Thursday and Saturday, from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m., Grace Christian Center will open its doors to families with newborns, infants, and toddlers up to 36 months of age, as well as expectant and adoptive parents. Located at 820 Raynor Street in El Paso, the center will offer a “shopping” experience, allowing attendees to select the items they require.
Sarah Garcia, representing Grace Christian Center, emphasized the organization’s commitment to community outreach and addressing the pressing needs of local residents. She stated, “We have grocery giveaways, we try to see the need and meet the need, so when Seasons of Change reached out to us about this, we definitely wanted to be a host site for them.”
The range of items available for distribution includes diapers, baby wipes, blankets, and various hygiene products. Garcia highlighted the rising costs of these essential items, stating, “With everything going on, the prices have gone up a lot, and these things are necessities for the families. A lot of parents need these things but are not able to afford it, and it’s been really hard for them. So if we can help provide it in any way to bring relief to those needs, then we want to help them.”
In addition to the baby care products, the event will also offer free hot dogs to attendees. Several local agencies, including El Paso Early Childhood Intervention, PDN Children’s, and the Westside Pregnancy Center, will be present, providing additional free resources and valuable information.
Garcia stressed the importance of not only providing immediate relief but also fostering ongoing connections and support for parents in need, saying, “We understand that this is bringing real relief right now, but maybe some parents need more resources in the future. We didn’t want it just to stop here so they can continue to receive things and get the connections that they need.”
