Chandigarh, October 30, 2023 – In a remarkable display of courage and kindness, three constables of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) came to the aid of a pregnant woman who unexpectedly went into labor on board a train at Chandigarh railway station. The incident unfolded on Saturday evening as the woman, in her seventh month of pregnancy, was on board the Sadbhawna Express destined for Moradabad.
The train, preparing to depart from platform number 3, had not yet left the station when the woman began experiencing labor pains. Realizing the urgency of the situation, Constables Suman Devi, Anita, and Monica sprang into action, providing essential assistance to the mother during childbirth.
Following the successful delivery, an ambulance was promptly summoned, and both the newborn baby and the mother were transferred to the Government Multi-specialty Hospital located in Sector 16. Medical professionals at the hospital have reported that both the mother and her newborn child are in stable condition and receiving appropriate care.
This heartwarming incident serves as a reminder of the dedication and compassion exhibited by our Railway Protection Force constables in ensuring the well-being of passengers during their journeys.
