In anticipation of the upcoming holiday season, Toys “R” Us, the well-known toys and baby products retailer, is embarking on a significant expansion effort with the opening of ten new stores in various regions across Canada.
The expansion initiative has already seen the inauguration of two new stores in British Columbia, three in Alberta, one in Ontario, and another in Nova Scotia. Additionally, three more stores are slated to open next month in Ontario, Québec, and Nova Scotia. Notably, two of these newly established stores represent the first-ever stand-alone Babies “R” Us locations in the region.
This strategic expansion endeavor will result in the addition of over 300,000 square feet of retail space, elevating the total store count to an impressive 105 throughout Canada. The retailer also maintains a robust online presence through Toysrus.ca and Babiesrus.ca.
To celebrate these new openings and introduce them to the local communities, Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us Canada have scheduled grand opening celebrations from October 13th to 15th. These festivities will include a range of engaging activities such as face-painting, balloon artists, and interactive toy demonstrations.
Commenting on this development, Nick Muriella, Vice-President of Merchandising & Supply Chain at Toys “R” Us Canada, stated, “These openings couldn’t have come at a better time. Our team has been working hard to bring our customers the best offers on the most sought-after toys and baby goods. We will be stocked with the must-have top toys of the season, giving our customers an early start on that gift list.”
Earlier this year, in May, WHP Global, a brand management firm, forged a partnership with travel retailer Duty Free Americas to introduce the Toys “R” Us brand at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) in Texas.
