The Jeremiah Program, a national organization with a presence across the United States, is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty for single mothers and their children, one generation at a time.
This vital organization provides single mothers with a wide range of resources, including access to career-focused education, early childhood education, a supportive community, safe and affordable housing, and empowerment and leadership opportunities.
The success and growth of the Jeremiah Program in the Fargo area have led to the need for renovations to accommodate additional staff offices. Andrea Williams, the Director of Development, expressed the program’s growth, saying, “As we’ve grown and been able to serve even more mothers, we have a need for hiring more family coaches, a program coordinator, an administrative assistant, and a housing manager—all of these exciting new staff positions are aimed at serving our mothers in the best way possible.”
The Fargo-Moorhead Jeremiah Program location has been aiding single mothers since 2012, and in 2018, they established their own campus. They have experienced tremendous support from the local community.
Laetita Mizero Hellerud, the Executive Director, remarked, “It takes a village to run a program like this, and we are fortunate to live in a very generous community. We always welcome opportunities for people to visit us.”
Despite the valuable support they have received, there remains a significant need for assistance. Williams added, “This not only reflects the demand for our program in Fargo-Moorhead but also the enthusiasm our mothers have for the support they receive to help them achieve their goals.”
