ALBANY, N.Y. — New parents at St. Peter’s Hospital and Samaritan Hospital’s Burdett Birth Center can now enjoy a complimentary newborn photography service, thanks to Bella Baby Photography. The service, which captures the first precious moments of a newborn’s life, allows parents to preserve these memories.
Kevin Kennefick from Bella Baby Photography shared, “Moms often say this is their best part of their day because it’s a treat for mom as much as it is for the baby. We’re celebrating both.”
The new partnerships with St. Peter’s and Burdett Birth Center had been in the works for some time. Kennefick explained, “We’ve wanted to be at St. Peter’s for a while, and they’ve wanted us there too. However, the pandemic delayed things, and the Burdett Birth Center faced challenges with potential closure in 2023 and 2024.” Despite these setbacks, Bella Baby is returning to Burdett, bringing their newborn photography service back to the hospital.
The service allows expectant mothers to sign up in advance, and a photographer will visit their room on the day of the birth to take photos for about 15 minutes. The edited photos are then uploaded and a slideshow is shared with the family on the same day, allowing them to quickly share the news with loved ones. While the initial service is free, additional photos or sessions are available in various paid packages.
Kennefick added, “Nurses really appreciate seeing this care provided to moms. They understand what these mothers go through, and it’s special to have those moments celebrated.”
In addition to St. Peter’s, Bella Baby is also offering their services at Bellevue in Niskayuna.
