Outrage as Company Demands Bassinet Return After Influencer’s Baby Dies

by daisy

A baby bassinet company has sparked outrage after reportedly asking an influencer to return its product following the death of her newborn son.

Brooklyn Larsen, an influencer, lost her baby boy, Rocky, in November 2024. Before his death, she had received a $1,700 SNOO bassinet from Happiest Baby to create content. After her loss, the company allegedly demanded the bassinet back, as she hadn’t delivered the agreed-upon content.

Social media users have criticized the company for being insensitive. One user wrote, “Boycott Happiest Baby,” while another said, “Demanding it back 6 times is damage control.”

Larsen’s sister, Kenna Bangerter, expressed her disappointment on Instagram, stating that the company asked for the bassinet back after her sister lost her child. She criticized the brand for not allowing her sister space to grieve, adding, “It’s all business for brands like these.”

Happiest Baby responded with a statement offering condolences and clarifying that content was never a concern. The company explained they offered to arrange a courier for the bassinet to avoid additional emotional distress and apologized for any hurt caused.

Bangerter, however, claimed the brand sent six emails demanding the bassinet back instead of offering help. Many social media users echoed this sentiment, questioning why the company acted without understanding the grieving process.

Brooklyn Larsen later posted a message on Instagram reflecting on her loss, marking two months since her son’s death. The incident continues to spark debate about how businesses should support grieving families.
