Revvity Expands Collaboration with Genomics England for Newborn Genetic Screening

by daisy

WALTHAM, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Revity, Inc. (NYSE: RVTY) has announced an expanded partnership with Genomics England to provide DNA sequencing services for newborn screening. The new contract builds upon a prior agreement for DNA extraction services and will enable Revvity to offer a complete end-to-end solution. This will include a localized lab facility for faster DNA extraction and sequencing, aimed at advancing the screening process for rare genetic conditions.

The Generation Study, a groundbreaking initiative led by Genomics England in collaboration with the National Health Service (NHS), aims to screen up to 100,000 newborns for more than 200 rare genetic disorders. The results of the study will guide future decisions on the use of whole genome sequencing (WGS) in newborn screening. Proactive screening could help doctors identify risks for genetic conditions earlier, enabling timely interventions and personalized care.
