Nuna Baby Essentials, Inc. has issued an urgent recall for approximately 608,786 Nuna RAVA car seats due to safety concerns. The recall affects car seats manufactured between July 16, 2016, and October 25, 2023, which are sold in the U.S. for $400 to $550.
The issue involves the potential for debris to enter the area around the front harness adjuster button, which may cause the adjuster mechanism to malfunction. This could result in a loose harness, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
Owners of affected seats can submit a claim if the harness is not functioning properly. Those eligible for a claim will receive a new seat pad, cleaning kit, and care instructions.
To check if their seat is affected, owners should find the model number on a label on the underside of the seat and refer to the recall list. They can also perform a Harness Function Test using the provided video guide.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued the recall after receiving complaints about harness loosening. No injuries or fatalities have been reported. Nuna Baby Essentials stated that they are taking this step to maintain high safety standards.
Affected customers can initiate the recall process online to receive their replacement items.
