Intermountain Health to Close Bloomin’ Babies Birth Center in Grand Junction by March 2025

by daisy

Intermountain Health has announced that its Bloomin’ Babies Birth Center in Grand Junction will close on March 28, 2025, due to declining birth rates in Mesa County and a drop in patient numbers.

Patients currently receiving care at the center will have the option to continue with their existing care team or transfer to one of Intermountain Health’s other three clinics. These include the Patterson OB-GYN and Midwifery Clinic, located at 610 25th Rd., the Wellington OB-GYN Clinic on N. 8th St., and the St. Mary’s Family Medicine Clinic at 2698 Patterson Rd.

Officials also pointed out that St. Mary’s Regional Hospital offers similar labor and delivery options as Bloomin’ Babies, including unmedicated, low-intervention births, and natural pain relief methods.

“St. Mary’s Regional Hospital provides a full range of childbirth options, from unmedicated labor to epidurals, pain relief medications, and Cesarean sections for high-risk pregnancies,” said Bryan Johnson, president of Intermountain St. Mary’s Regional Hospital. “Our goal is to ensure that every mother and baby stays safe and healthy, supported by certified-nurse midwives and OB-GYNs.”
