Under the guidance of the District Development Commissioner Doda, the Department of ICDS organized a Healthy Baby Competition at Dak Banglow Thathri. The event was officially inaugurated by District Programme Officer Paramjeet Singh, accompanied by key figures including Child Development Project Officer Thathri Pankaj Sharma, Tehsildar Thathri Satish Rana, BMO Thathri Dr. Varsha Kotwal, BDO Thathri Bhushan Kumar, and field staff from the ICDS and Health Departments.
The event featured health check-ups by Health Department experts, along with measurements of children’s weight and height. The children were categorized into normal and underweight groups.
The program included a variety of activities designed to foster physical, cognitive, and social development. Children participated in games, poetry recitations, songs, dances, and a popular ramp walk, which became the event’s highlight. All participating children received gifts, with two children being named “Healthy Babies” and awarded special prizes.
In celebration of National Girl Child Day, a cake-cutting ceremony was held with young girls. Stalls promoting healthy eating were also set up, showcasing local fruits, vegetables, and nutritious food items.
District Programme Officer urged block-level officers to collaborate for the overall improvement of women, children, and society.
Similar events will be held across all Panchayats and blocks in the district through January and February 2025, culminating in a district-level event on February 28, 2025, where the District Development Commissioner Doda will attend as the chief guest.
