The first baby of 2025 arrived at Lakewood Health System on January 2, bringing joy to parents Sarai Juarez and Albert Becerra from Sauk Centre. Their son, Grayson Amir, was born at 8:05 a.m., weighing 7 pounds, 14 ounces, and measuring 20 inches long.
Drs. Marie Nelson and Lindsay Leveille delivered the baby, with assistance from registered nurse Julianne Holden. To mark the occasion, the Lakewood Health System Foundation and Piecemakers Quilt Club of Staples presented the family with special gifts. The Foundation gifted a basket filled with items from The Shoppe (Lakewood’s gift shop) and Longbella Drug by Lakewood, while the Piecemakers Quilt Club donated a handmade baby quilt, crafted especially for the first baby of the new year.
