MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) — Raising children comes with a significant financial burden, and for some families, meeting basic needs can be a challenge.
What began as a small effort to support parents in need has grown significantly.
The Minot Area Diaper Pantry, founded by Amanda Lund, aims to provide essential childcare items to families facing financial hardship.
“We didn’t want any parent to go without diapers, formula, or other basic necessities,” said Lund.
Launched in December 2023 at Cornerstone Church, the pantry quickly outgrew its original space.
“We serve between 70 and 150 families each month, so the demand is high,” Lund explained.
In response to the growing need, the pantry has relocated to the basement of the Regency Center in downtown Minot. It will now be open Tuesday through Friday and will serve all families, not just those from Minot.
“We want families to feel welcome and comfortable while they pick up what they need,” Lund said.
Families can visit the pantry once a month. To request items, families can fill out a Google form on the “Minot Area Diaper Pantry” Facebook page by 6 p.m. Items will be ready for pickup the following day at noon.
