NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) – Great Plains Health welcomed its first baby of the year on New Year’s Day.
Timothy Hasenauer was born early Wednesday morning, surprising his parents, Emily and Josh Hasenauer. Named after his uncle and grandfather, Timothy weighed just over seven pounds and was originally due on January 3.
His mother, Emily, shared that doctors had asked them to come in earlier. “His due date was on the third, but Dr. Dunn wanted us in earlier. We thought he might come sooner,” she said.
His father, Josh, added, “It was a shock for sure. We were hoping he’d be born the day before.”
Timothy was discharged from the hospital on Thursday afternoon, where his two older siblings, Riker, 13, and Hadley, 10, were eager to meet him.
“They think he’s the greatest thing since sliced bread,” Emily said, expressing their excitement at adding a new member to the family.
Now, Timothy will celebrate his birthday just one day after his parents’ anniversary.
