MUMBAI—Deepika Padukone, who is expecting her first child with husband Ranveer Singh, was recently seen in Mumbai, just weeks before her due date. The couple is eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby in September.
On Sunday night, a video emerged online showing the visibly pregnant actress making her way to her car. Dressed in an all-white ethnic outfit, with her hair styled in a bun, Deepika’s baby bump was noticeable, partially concealed by her dupatta. She was accompanied by her staff and surrounded by tight security as she entered her black SUV.
Deepika and Ranveer, both 38, announced the pregnancy in February with a heartwarming Instagram post, revealing that their baby is due in September. The post featured an image with baby shoes and clothing, captioned “September 2024.” The couple, who got married in a private ceremony at Lake Como, Italy, in 2018, have since shared glimpses of their journey into parenthood.
Upcoming Projects for Deepika and Ranveer
The power couple is also set to appear together on the big screen this Diwali in Rohit Shetty’s ensemble cop drama Singham Again. In the film, Ranveer will reprise his popular role as Simmba, while Deepika will make her debut as Tara Shetty. They will star alongside an impressive cast that includes Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, and Tiger Shroff.
Ranveer has several other projects lined up, including Aditya Dhar’s upcoming action film, which features a star-studded cast with Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and Akshaye Khanna. He is also set to lead in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3, where he will star opposite Kiara Advani.
Deepika, meanwhile, was last seen in Nag Ashwin’s Telugu dystopian sci-fi drama Kalki 2898 AD, where she shared the screen with Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan. The film was a massive success, earning over ₹1000 crore, and is set to premiere on Netflix India on August 22.
Fans have praised Deepika for her portrayal of motherly roles in recent films, including Kalki 2898 AD and her guest appearance in Atlee’s crime drama Jawan, where she starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan. This marks a full-circle moment for Deepika, as Shah Rukh was her first co-star in her debut film, Om Shanti Om, in 2007.
