Ben Higgins and Jessica Clarke, known from the popular reality TV show “The Bachelor,” are set to become parents. On Sunday, August 18, the couple revealed via Instagram that they are expecting their first child, a baby girl.
The announcement was made through a touching Instagram Reel, which the couple posted on their individual accounts. The video captures significant moments from their relationship, including their engagement, wedding, and tender moments of the couple embracing.
The video, set to Cody Johnson’s country song “On My Way to You,” also includes a clip of their dog, Waylon, wearing a handkerchief labeled “Big Brother.” Another moment shows Clarke administering what appears to be a hormone injection, suggesting that the couple might have undergone fertility treatments. The reel concludes with scenes of friends and family reacting to the pregnancy news, as well as footage of a sonogram indicating that Clarke was 12 weeks pregnant at the time of filming.
In the caption accompanying the video, the couple wrote, “The next chapter of our love story! Baby girl coming in February,” revealing the expected due date.
The news follows Higgins’ 2022 interview with E! News, where he shared that while the couple was looking forward to having children, they were not in a rush at the time. “We’re excited for kids,” he said, “But right now, it’s not a conversation we have often, and it’s not something I believe either of us are craving.”
Higgins and Clarke were married in November 2021 in a picturesque ceremony at The Estate in Cherokee Dock, near Nashville. The wedding was attended by several notable figures from the Bachelor franchise, including Nick Viall, Becca Kufrin, Thomas Jacobs, Jared Haibon, Ashley Iaconetti, and Wells Adams, who served as a groomsman.
The couple first met in 2018 through social media and, leading up to their wedding, expressed their deep admiration for each other in an interview with PEOPLE. Clarke shared that Higgins “doesn’t just make me want to be a better person, but he actually makes me a better person.” Higgins, in turn, praised Clarke’s empathy and support, stating, “I’m so excited that I get to love her — and be loved by her — every single day.”
The couple’s journey now enters a new phase as they prepare to welcome their baby girl in February.
