Baby Formula Powder Recalled Due to Excessive Vitamin D

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – A recall has been issued for baby formula due to excessive levels of Vitamin D. Perrigo Company is voluntarily recalling over 16,000 cans of its store-brand premium infant formula with iron.

The recall affects milk-based powders identified during routine testing by the Food and Drug Administration.

The company has stated that, for most infants, short-term use of the recalled formula is unlikely to lead to serious health problems. However, there is a potential risk of health issues for vulnerable infants.

The recall impacts several states, including Texas, Florida, California, South Carolina, Virginia, Indiana, Tennessee, New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Missouri. No reports have been made of Colorado being affected.
