St. John’s Hospital Introduces New Infant and Child Safety Class for Parents

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — HSHS St. John’s Children’s Hospital has introduced a new Infant and Child Safety Class for parents.

This class aims to teach parents how to childproof their homes, ensuring the safety of cribs, cars, toys, and other areas for infants and toddlers.

“Parents must understand the importance of childproofing their homes and recognizing potential hazards. We invite mothers and their support persons to attend the Infant and Child Safety Class to learn how to minimize accidents at home and in the car,” said Jennifer Beauchamp, RN, BSN, CLC, CPST, Patient and Community Educator at HSHS St. John’s Hospital.

The class is held in-person, lasts two hours, and is offered every other month. The first session is scheduled for Thursday, July 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. John’s Hospital.
