Kabrita Achieves Three Clean Label Project Certifications

by daisy

BOSTON, June 27, 2024 / — Kabrita, a global leader in goat milk formula, announced today that it has received three prestigious certifications from the Clean Label Project (CLP). These certifications recognize Kabrita Goat Milk-Based Infant Formula for its commitment to purity and surpassing FDA requirements. Kabrita now holds the First 1,000 Day Promise Certification, Pesticide Free Award, and Purity Award, marking it as the first and only goat milk-based infant formula to achieve this distinction. The same accolades were also granted to Kabrita’s Goat Milk Toddler Formula.

Earlier this year, Kabrita introduced the first goat milk-based infant formula in the U.S. to meet FDA standards after extensive clinical testing. This formula provides essential nutrition for infants’ growth in their first year, leveraging goat milk’s easier digestibility compared to cow milk due to its protein similarity to breast milk. Additionally, it contains five times more naturally occurring oligosaccharides than cow’s milk, a key component of breast milk.

“As a company with 75 years of experience in infant formula and a strong European heritage, Kabrita has consistently met rigorous safety standards,” said Elieke Kearns, PhD, RD, Director of Medical and Scientific Affairs at Kabrita USA. “These certifications from the Clean Label Project validate our commitment to producing the safest goat milk-based infant formula available.”

  • The First 1,000 Day Promise Certification involves comprehensive reviews and independent testing to meet European baby food regulations, including assessments for heavy metals and plasticizers.
  • The Purity Award recognizes products that rank in the top third of their category after independent testing for heavy metals, pesticides, and plasticizers.
  • The Pesticide Free Award confirms compliance with CLP standards for reducing pesticide exposure in foods through independent testing.

“We’re excited to bring Kabrita’s high-quality goat milk-based infant formula to the U.S. market, providing parents with confidence in their feeding choices,” said Jackie Bowen, Founder of Clean Label Project. “These certifications underscore our commitment to ensuring babies receive the best possible nutrition.”

Kabrita sources its goat milk from over 100 family-owned farms in the Netherlands, subjecting it to over ninety quality checks. With a legacy of over 75 years in infant nutrition, Kabrita feeds 1.5 million babies daily and is available for purchase at Kabrita.com, Amazon, and major retailers nationwide, including Thrive Market, Wegmans, Meijer, Giant, and Fresh Thyme.
