An infant was rushed to Mount Pleasant hospital after being found in a backyard pool, according to Mount Pleasant police.
Police responded to the incident on Tuesday, where officers attended to the infant before transporting them to East Cooper Medical Center. An individual at the home reported that they had been watching TV with another child when, ten minutes later, they discovered the infant outside.
Authorities found that the living room door was broken and could be pushed open, leading to the infant’s accidental access to the backyard pool.
Ashley Croy, spokesperson for the Mount Pleasant Police Department, did not disclose the condition of the child. As of now, no charges have been filed in connection with this incident.
The Mount Pleasant Police Department is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
