Syrian students at the Zarqa refugee camp are receiving online education through a joint effort by the UAE and Jordan, according to the Emirates News Agency.
The initiative is a partnership between the Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Global Initiatives Digital School and Jordan’s Ministry of Education.
This program aims to offer certified online education to students worldwide, especially in under-served communities.
All 45 classrooms at the school are now equipped with interactive displays and reliable internet access.
The digital education model covers grades one to twelve and serves 2,500 students.
Omar Sultan Al-Olama, the UAE’s Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, praised the initiative.
“This launch represents a new success for a humanitarian education project inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai,” he said.
The goal is to provide educational opportunities for less fortunate students globally and to offer a modern, high-quality educational experience for Syrian refugees.
