A 7-month-old infant, Baby Jaxson, who was shot multiple times during a hostage situation in Surprise, is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Jaxson’s family informed ABC15 that he has undergone another surgery and is currently in stable condition.
On May 17, the unfortunate incident occurred when Jaxson and his mother were held hostage by his father at a residence in Surprise. The police were alerted by a woman who managed to escape around 11:30 a.m., revealing that she had been held captive since 3 a.m. She also expressed concern for the safety of the baby who remained inside the residence.
Upon entering the house, law enforcement officers discovered Jaxson with multiple gunshot wounds. He was promptly transported to a hospital and received medical attention. Subsequently, Jaxson was airlifted to a hospital where he underwent surgery. Despite the severity of his injuries, he remains in stable condition.
The situation escalated as a large fire erupted at the residence during the incident. The suspect, identified as the infant’s father, was located hours later with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the police.
ABC15 remains committed to keeping in touch with the family and providing updates on Jaxson’s condition as he continues his recovery journey.
