A Texas mother is facing charges after allegedly abandoning her baby in a McDonald’s bathroom, authorities report.
Police responded to a call regarding a woman who had left her baby in a bathroom stall. Upon arriving at the scene, an officer observed 26-year-old Abbie Bishop exiting the restaurant alone, according to KXII.
Bishop was detained and found to be under the influence of an unknown substance, police said.
During the investigation, officers discovered plastic baggies with meth residue in her possession.
A relative of Bishop arrived at the McDonald’s and retrieved the baby from an unidentified man inside the restaurant, KXII reported.
Bishop has been arrested and charged with abandoning/endangering a child, public intoxication, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
