The suspect, identified as Alek Isaiah Collins, 26, from Manvel, Texas, was apprehended on Monday in Abilene, Texas. He is currently in custody facing charges of aggravated robbery and assault on a peace officer, with additional charges pending, according to Abilene Police.

The abducted baby was placed under protective custody and received medical evaluation, according to law enforcement officials.
Additionally, Collins is under investigation for the double murder of Torres’ mother, Samantha Cisneros, and another woman, identified as Taryn Allen, both 23 years old, from Texico, New Mexico. The incident occurred last week in New Mexico, where Collins is also accused of shooting the baby’s 5-year-old sister, who is currently recovering at a local hospital, according to Deputy Chief of Clovis Police Trevor Thron.
Officials have revealed that Collins is subject to a United States Marshal hold related to the alleged New Mexico killings and kidnapping charge.
During the investigation at Ned Houk Memorial Park, a recreational area north of Clovis, two women were found dead with apparent gunshot wounds on Friday. Alongside the victims, authorities discovered a 5-year-old girl who had sustained a head injury.
Officers at the scene found an infant car seat, an infant stroller, and a baby bottle, prompting an immediate search for the abducted infant, according to officials.
