Recognizing that raising a child requires support from a community, Boys Town Pediatrics is dedicated to easing the journey of parenthood.
On Saturday, Boys Town hosted its yearly Newborn Expo and Newborn Care Workshop, providing a valuable resource for expecting parents, free of charge.
Among the attendees was Amanda Olson, an expecting mother who gained insights into essential skills such as first aid, car seat safety, and baby-proofing her home.
Olson highlighted the significance of the event, noting, “There’s just a lot more resources for the child or after the child is born, or after the baby is born versus a birthing class is more just to get the mom through the birthing process.”
Dr. Sarah Orr, a pediatrician at Boys Town, emphasized the importance of ensuring parents feel prepared and supported upon the arrival of their baby. “We want them to feel more comfortable when baby arrives. We want them to know that there are a lot of resources both within Boys Town and within our community that can help them and answer questions,” she stated.
The Newborn Expo marked the culmination of a week-long series of virtual learning sessions provided by Boys Town to support parents in their journey of parenthood.
