The mother, a Spanish national approximately 40 years of age, is now under police custody. It was last Thursday evening when a baby, initially believed to be a boy but later identified as a girl, was found in distressing circumstances. A vigilant woman who observed an individual exiting a car and depositing something into the container became suspicious. She subsequently investigated the container after the vehicle had departed, unveiling the shocking discovery.
A preliminary autopsy report suggests that the baby was at approximately 28 weeks of gestation. However, the critical question of whether the infant was born alive remains unanswered. To shed light on this harrowing question, the baby’s vital organs will be forwarded to the National Institute of Toxicology and Forensic Sciences in Barcelona.
