Somers Library, located at 82 Primrose St, Katonah, NY, is set to become a hub of support and guidance for new parents as they embark on their journey of parenthood. This initiative, “New Parents Together,” led by Beth Villeneuve, a highly experienced International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and licensed pediatric nurse, commences its sessions on Thursdays, starting October 12th, at 11 AM.
The “New Parents Together” program aims to provide a vital lifeline for parents navigating the early stages of parenthood. Beth Villeneuve, who boasts over 30 years of expertise in pediatric nursing and lactation consulting, brings her extensive knowledge and compassionate approach to guide new parents through their transformative journey. Notably, Beth is also a mother of seven, enriching her understanding of the challenges and joys of parenthood. Her academic background includes a Bachelor’s of Science in Maternal Child Health and Human Lactation.
This in-person support group offers a welcoming environment where parents can connect, find solace, and share their experiences. It is open to all parents and guardians, and there is no registration requirement. However, for safety and supervision, children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
“The ‘New Parents Together’ program at Somers Library is designed to create a sense of community, providing invaluable support to parents during the early stages of parenthood,” Beth Villeneuve explained. “As a mother and experienced lactation consultant, I understand the unique challenges that new parents face. Together, we can build a supportive network to share knowledge, experiences, and provide solace during this incredible journey.”
The “New Parents Together” program is made possible through the generous contributions of patrons and the Friends of the Somers Library, who continue to support valuable community initiatives.
