Missouri City, Texas – A Missouri City family is left shaken and seeking answers after their new residence was subjected to a hail of bullets, with one projectile narrowly missing an infant.
The incident unfolded near Fondren Road, where the family had recently relocated. Fearful and perplexed, they are now appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the assailants responsible for this harrowing experience.
Law enforcement officers were dispatched to the residence shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Monday, responding to the alarming incident. Remarkably, no injuries were reported.
Kimberly Murphy, a member of the afflicted family, recounted the terrifying ordeal. “I ran through the door, and he was like, ‘They’re shooting, they’re shooting. I don’t know if they’re shooting at us, I don’t know,'” she recalled.
Exclusive surveillance footage, shared solely with ABC13, captures the dramatic moments as two individuals urgently sought refuge within their home amidst a barrage of gunfire.
Murphy guided our news crew through her home, pointing out the multiple areas that had been struck by bullets. The projectiles penetrated a parked vehicle in the driveway and tore through the front door, coming to rest only a few feet away from children who were watching television at the time.
Expressing her profound fear, Murphy stated, “I have grandchildren. And I have a young daughter. My boys, I don’t know what I’d do if I lost them. I’d lose my mind.”
During her walkthrough, Murphy made a chilling discovery – additional bullets upstairs. One of them dislodged a tile in the master bathroom, while another impacted a wall near a sleeping newborn, narrowly missing the infant by inches.
“I kind of feel like it’s targeted. My son has been having problems with an ex-friend,” revealed Murphy, her concerns deepening.
As the investigation unfolds, local law enforcement authorities are diligently working to determine the motive behind this unsettling incident. The family, still grappling with the trauma, is now contemplating yet another move as they endeavor to settle into their new home amidst ongoing uncertainty.
