M&S Recalls Baby Coats Due to Suffocation Risk

by daisy

Marks & Spencer has issued an urgent recall of certain baby coats after identifying a safety risk that could lead to suffocation.

The recall affects two sizes of the Fisherman’s Coats, priced at £24 each, which have been on sale since January 9. The affected sizes are 0-3 months and 3-6 months, with product codes T78 4045Y, T78 2032Y, and T78 4039Y.

M&S has confirmed the coats do not meet safety specifications and has asked customers to return the items for a full refund, either at Clothing & Home stores or through Customer Services.

The recall was also addressed by the Office for Product Safety & Standards, which explained that the hoods on the coats present a suffocation risk. If a baby is left unattended, the hood may cover the face, potentially leading to suffocation. The product fails to meet the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.

Customers who have purchased the affected coats are urged to stop using them immediately and return them to M&S stores. For more information, customers can contact Marks & Spencer’s customer service at 0333 014 8555 or visit the recall page on their website.
