Kyrie Williams may be less than a month old, but he’s already becoming an internet sensation for his seriously unimpressed facial expressions.
The Tennessee-born baby, who arrived on November 13, is gaining attention on social media after his mom, Kristen Williams, shared an Instagram reel showing Kyrie scowling and giving his mother some major side-eye. When she kisses his cheek, he responds with a “death stare.”
“He’s just a little grumpy old man,” Williams joked to TODAY.com.
Kyrie’s funny facial expressions have sparked a flood of comments online, including:
- “He’s been here before and he CAN NOT BELIEVE he’s back.”
- “He hates it here.”
- “When he turned to look at you after the kiss.”
- “He’s 56.”
- “Beautiful old soul, he has seen it all before.”
Williams describes Kyrie as a “very chill” baby who only cries when he’s hungry. “He sleeps a lot. When he wakes up from a nap, he looks at you like he wants you to leave,” she said.
Dr. Wanda Abreu, director of the newborn nursery at New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, explains that while babies typically develop a social smile between 6 and 12 weeks, Kyrie’s future grin may be a while in coming. “Babies do what they’re going to do,” Abreu said. “They don’t read textbooks.”
