BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A healthy 13-pound baby girl was born at Grandview Medical Center on Tuesday morning.
Paris Halo was born on March 4 at 7:21 a.m. to Pamela Mann. The newborn weighed 13 pounds, 4 ounces, and measured 22 inches long.
Although Paris is currently in the NICU for extra care, her family says she’s doing well. Pamela Mann, her mother, is also feeling great as she recovers in the hospital.
Mann’s original due date was March 20, but during a routine ultrasound about three to four weeks before delivery, doctors estimated the baby’s weight at around 10 pounds. This led to a planned C-section on March 4. However, when Paris was born, her weight surprised everyone.
“Everybody in the ER was amazed,” Mann said. “They were like, ‘OMG, this is a big baby!’ I thought something was wrong, but once they said she was just big, I broke down in tears. It’s been an amazing experience.”
Mann expressed pride in carrying Paris to 39 weeks and is excited to begin life with her daughter. The family expects to go home in a few days.
