Justin Bieber’s son with wife Hailey, 6-month-old Jack Blues, might be hitting the ice soon if his dad has anything to say about it.
Bieber took part in the Skate For LA Strong charity hockey game on Sunday (Feb. 23) at Crypto.com Arena, an event to raise funds for wildfire recovery efforts in Los Angeles. During the event, Bieber shared his thoughts with an interviewer on camera.
When asked what it meant for him to participate in the charity game, a rare public appearance for the Canadian pop star since his 2022 tour, Bieber answered: “It means everything.” He added that participants were gathered to have fun and help those affected by the wildfires that hit Los Angeles in January.
The interviewer then asked, “How soon are you looking to get your kid on skates?” referring to Bieber’s new role as a father after the couple welcomed their first child in August. Without hesitation, Bieber replied: “As soon as possible.”
Although Jack Blues is only six months old and likely not even crawling yet, Bieber remained eager to introduce his son to skating: “It’s never too early.”
At the Skate For LA Strong event, actor Steve Carell and musician Ross Lynch also participated. The event raised funds to support wildfire recovery, with celebrities and hockey pros like Mark Messier, Jeremy Roenick, and Rob Blake taking part. Snoop Dogg, Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, Danny DeVito, and Cobie Smulders served as coaches, while Kaskade, Jordan Davis, and Lauren Spencer-Smith performed.
The charity game, broadcast on ESPN2 and streamed on ESPN+, followed a single-elimination format and included athletes from various sports, as well as first responders. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Red Cross, the LA Fire Foundation, Cal Fire Foundation, and the Eaton Canyon Fire Relief and Recovery Fund.
