A GoFundMe campaign has been launched for Valentin Gutierrez, a 1-month-old baby who tragically passed away after an alleged incident of child abuse.

Details of the Tragic Incident
Valentin was found unresponsive on November 24, 2024, in the 1000 block of Washington Street. He was immediately transported to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera, where he was later pronounced dead on December 2, 2024. According to the Kern County Coroner’s Office, his death is being investigated as a result of suspected child abuse.
Father’s Arrest and Legal Proceedings
The baby’s father, Eduardo Gutierrez, 24, was arrested after the infant’s mother spoke with authorities about the incident. Gutierrez has pleaded not guilty to felony child cruelty charges and is scheduled to appear in court again next week.
As the investigation continues, the community has rallied around Valentin’s family to help with the emotional and financial burdens of this devastating loss.
