A woman in the Bahamas has been charged with cruelty to children after a baby in her care was found with bruises. Curria Lewis, the child’s godmother, faces allegations of causing injuries to the six-week-old’s back, stomach, and left eye.
The baby’s mother discovered the bruises when she picked up her son from Lewis on June 19. She immediately notified the police.

Lewis has pleaded not guilty to the charge. Her bail was set at $9,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court again on August 1.
