Actress Jenna Dewan, 43, is expecting her third child. She is already a mother to 4-year-old son Callum with fiancé Steve Kazee and 11-year-old daughter Everly with ex-husband Channing Tatum.
In an interview with PEOPLE about her collaboration with Crate & Kids, Dewan shared insights on setting up her new baby’s nursery and managing life in a blended family. “You learn as you go. You shift, evolve, and adapt to how life presents itself,” Dewan said about her co-parenting approach. “This includes adjusting to the new normal of a blended family.”
Dewan emphasizes that her children are her top priority. “Kids always come first. How you feel about your kids and how you treat them always comes above everything else,” she stated.
As Dewan and Kazee prepare for their new addition, both children are eager to take on their new roles. Dewan highlighted her daughter Everly’s excitement, noting, “Everly is the oldest, so she understands the most. This will be special for her, as she will have more responsibility and wisdom.”
Entering motherhood again in her 40s, Dewan feels positive about the experience. “I always knew this path was for me. Life seems to get better as I get older,” she shared. “The more time I have, the more I’ve learned and experienced. Everything feels better.”
Despite her growing family, Dewan plans to continue her career. Her show, “The Rookie,” is set to return for its seventh season. Dewan expects to make some lifestyle changes to accommodate her third child but remains confident in her ability to manage. “There’s three schedules versus two, and I work full-time, but I have an incredible partner. I’ve learned how to multitask and ask for help when needed,” she said.
Even with a busy schedule, Dewan finds joy and energy in her children. “Being in the energy of kids keeps you youthful. Raising kids keeps you in a youthful place because that’s what surrounds you,” she explained.
